Unique Muse Guitar Sells Buckets For Charity
A unique guitar signed by all three members of Muse raised £8,100 for charity at the band's sell-out hometown gigs in Teignmouth, Devon.
The mosaic decorated axe, designed by artist Michelle Wilcox and named 'The Resistance' in honour of Muse's new album, attracted over 19,000 viewings on eBay after going on display, first in Teignmouth and then at Manson's Guitar Shop in Exeter.
The cash it raised will go to The Helen Foundation, of which band members Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme are patrons.
The foundation was set up in memory of Helen Kirk, a personal friend of the band, who died in a road accident aged 24.
Muse dedicated their 2006 album 'Black Holes and Revelations' to Helen, whose foundation supports young people in South Devon in their aspirations in the arts.
