Unique Audio Interview With Jason Becker Posted Online
A special interview conducted with legendary shredder Jason Becker has aired on The Classic Metal Show. You can listen below.
Although completely paralysed and unable to talk, Becker submitted written replies to an e-mail interview which was then translated through a speech synthesizer to form the first audio interview from Becker in years.
Becker's recent album 'Collection' features contributions from guitar buddies Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Michael Lee Firkins, Marty Friedman, Steve Hunter and Greg How.
The virtuoso began his career in prog metal pioneers Cacophony with Marty Friedman and replaced Vai in David Lee Roth's band. His groundbreaking solo record 'Perpetual Burn' was recorded when Jason was just 17, before he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's Disease) in the early 90s.
He still composes to this day using special computer programs and communicates with eye movements in a unique method devised by his own father.
Check out a future issue of TG when we will be running an Icon interview with Jason.
