Tourmates Step In For Demmel
Black Crusade tourmates have stepped in as Machine Head's guest guitarists after Phil Demmel sits out following the death of his father.
Guitarists from Black Crusade tourmates Trivium, Arch Enemy and Dragonforce are temporarily filling in for Machine Head axeman Phil Demmel following the death of his father.
Replacing Demmel as he sits out the remaining tour dates are Trivium's Corey Beaulieu and Matt Heafy, Frédéric Leclercq of Dragonforce and Arch Enemy's Christopher Amott.
During Machine Head's performance in Zurich on Friday frontman Robb Flynn dedicated the song "Descend the Shades of Night" to everyone who has lost someone important in their life, adding that the song would be played in Phil's father's honor. Demmel reportedly shed tears while he played the solo to the track, which Flynn had previously described as "an eight-minute elegy on death."
