Support British Acoustics!
Showcasing the very best in British-made acoustic instruments, the Acoustic Guitar Show returns to Cheltenham the weekend of September 13/14th.
It´s the event to see and play the very best British-built instruments, with a sprinkling of American and Australian guitars as well.
See how a guitar is made, meet the makers and play the instrument you´ve dreamed of owning. Demo rooms mean you´ll be able to try that special guitar in peace, while there´s the chance to snap up a six-string bargain for those on a more limited budget. Or just soak up the unique acoustic atmosphere and listen to some of Britain´s top guitarists while you have a beer.
From contemporary to classical, folk to flamenco, jazz, blues or ragtime, if it´s playable on the acoustic guitar, you can be sure to hear it at The Acoustic Guitar Show.
Many top instrument makers will be exhibiting, including Andy Manson, Patrick Eggle, Alex Willis, De Faoite, Alister Atkin, Jimmy Moon, Richard Osborne, Dave King, Ken Powell, Chris Eccleshall, Steve Toon, Mark Arnott, Adrian Lucas, Shapelywood, Pete Beer, Avalon and Larrivee.
Masterclasses will feature amazing musicians such as Amrit Sond, Kevin Brown, Stuart Ryan, Pete Smith and Gordon Giltrap. The event kicks off on Friday evening (12th) with singer songwriters Johnny Coppin and Mike Silver in concert, while you can catch Gordon performing on Saturday evening (tickets limited).
Fascinating guitar making demos will be provided by Bailey Guitars and Merton College, while this year budding luthiers will even be able to buy tonewoods. Specialist retailers bringing top American and Australian guitars include Sheehans, Broadway Music, Manouche and Aroundabout Sound.
