Slash Denies VR Split (While Launching New Guitars...)
Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has dismissed reports that the band will split up following its current European tour.
Slash is in the UK to launch his all new limited edition series of signature Gibson and Epiphone Les Paul Standard axes, released worldwide on 1st April.
As we reported yesterday, during the band's Glasgow gig last week singer Scott Weiland told fans they were "watching something special ... the last tour by Velvet Revolver."
But yesterday Slash told Radio 1: "Well, let's put it this way — this is not Velvet Revolver's last tour."
He also announced Velvet Revolver were concentrating on writing their next album, and dismissed reports they were opening for Led Zeppelin on a future World Tour.
Slash said: "There's been a huge rumor going around about us opening for Led and I think that was something that was taken out of context. I think as far as Zeppelin doing a tour, that remains to be seen.
"I saw Robert last night [Saturday, March 22] and he's got his solo thing going on and as far as Velvet Revolver is concerned, we've got another record to do and we're not even thinking about that."
