RIP Paul Fox
Paul Fox, guitarist with John Peel-championed reggae punks The Ruts, has died aged 56.
Paul Fox, guitarist and later vocalist with the John Peel championed The Ruts, has died after being diagnosed as having inoperable lung cancer earlier this year. He died on Sunday, aged 56.
A benefit gig was held back in May after Fox's illness was revealed, and featured performances from The Damned, Misty In Roots, The UK Subs and Tom Robinson, plus the surviving members of the original The Ruts line up took to the stage with Henry Rollins.
The reggae influenced punk rock band were perhaps best known for their singles 'Babylon's Burning' and 'In A Rut'. Their rise was halted when original vocalist Malcolm Owen died of a heroin overdose in 1980.
