Noel Announces Solo Album, Liam Abuses It. And Coldplay
After literally hours of speculation, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has revealed he plans to record a solo album, and wants the rest of the band to do the same.
He told BBC Radio 1 that he wants to do a "separate" release from Oasis when the band's current mammoth tour is over towards the end of 2009.
"There are songs that have just fallen by the wayside that are still great but have missed their moment," he said.
"At the end of this tour, I'd like everybody to do something separately. I think it would be interesting for our fans. Liam's got tons and tons of songs."
Speaking to Loaded, Liam said of his brother's solo album: "I hope he gives it away for free, because I won't be buying it."
He then did what he usually does when he can't think of anything better to say: dug in to Coldplay.
"I don't give a s**t about Coldplay. We are the coolest band and we are the best f*****g band. We are the most important band. We may not be the biggest band in America but who would want that?"
