Outspoken Megadeth mainman Dave Mustaine has hit out at guitarists who don't play solos, calling them unaccomplished.
Mustaine, well known in the music industry for speaking his mind, says he only picks bands for his US Gigantour based on whether their guitarists shred!
"I look at guys that don't play solos as guys who aren't fully accomplished guitar players," he told Revolver Magazine.
"I wanted bands that have had consistent musicianship. There was a period over the last 10 years where guitar solos weren't popular anymore — they weren't en vogue. Thank God they're back in style. Being a well-rounded guitar player to me is being able to play rhythm and lead and acoustic."
The third Gigantour kicks off in Denver, Colorado on 12th April with Megadeth headlining and support from In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Job For A Cowboy and High On Fire.
