A major new Hollywood film directed by Oscar winner Ang Lee tells the story behind one of the most famous events in music history, 1969's Woodstock Festival.
Taking Woodstock is based on the book of the same name by Elliot Tiber, and stars Demetri Martin as Tiber, Emile Hirsch (Milk, Into the Wild), and Liev Schreiber (Defiance).
The film's story follows Tiber as a down-on-his-luck interior designer in 1969 New York who is forced to move back upstate to help his parents run their dilapidated motel. When he hears that a neighbouring town has pulled the permit on a hippie music festival, he calls the producers thinking he can drum up some much needed business for the motel.
Three weeks later, half a million people made their way to his neighbour´s farm in White Lake, and Elliot is swept up in the generation-defining experience that changed American culture forever.
