A new social networking site that gives unsigned acts the chance to earn cash from their music has just launched.
Designed by industry insiders, Kerchoonz.com makes music free for fans while keeping bands´ and artists´ piggy banks happy by paying them every time someone downloads or streams their material.
There´s no advertising or DRM in sight and artists can even earn money by recommending friends to join the site.
Singer-songwriter and co-founder of the site Indiana Gregg says: “If bands and artists use the promotional tools we provide for them, Kerchoonz.com will act just like a record company. Artists can effectively ‘sell´ their music without charging their fans anything for it.”
