Big Pianist Supports New Degree For Session Musicians
Joolz Holland is one of the biggest pianists in the business, and along with TG contributor and Prodigy/Victory Pill guitarist Jim Davies has put his name to a brand new foundation degree for aspiring session musicians.
The course provides vocational training for high-level musicians (aged 18 and over) who intend to work as session/freelance musicians in all areas outside of the classical music sector.
Holland, who has over thirty years experience in the music industry, says: "I regularly employs session musicians and wholeheartedly support this course as it gives a fantastic opportunity for aspiring musicians to get the training they need."
Starting this September, the course is the result of a new partnership between the Royal Northern College of Music and contemporary music organisation Access To Music.
Jim Davies (pictured below) will visit the college to share his experiences with students, who will take part in intensive weekly one-on-one instrumental sessions with top professionals as well as learning valuable business and entrepreneurial skills.
