Thomas Lang rolls into the ICMP
Everyone's favourite Austrian vituoso drummer, Thomas Lang, will be stopping by the Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance in London on 27 May.
Thomas, a member of ICMP´s visiting teaching faculty, is probably best known for his jaw-dropping control and technical ability. His tuition DVD´s are some of the best selling in the world and, as a clinician, he is a great communicator and motivator.
Thomas´ daily practice regime eventually became the basis for his 2-part series of instructional videos, Ultimatives Schlagzeug I & II which were originally released in 1995. Due to overwhelming demand, these videos were re-released on DVD in 2004 by Hudson Music. His instructional DVD Creative Control (Hudson Music) is now one of the biggest-ever selling instructional DVDs of all time. Thomas´ album, Along These Lines was released in 2007 along with a music-inspired clothing line
A small number of places are available to the public for this masterclass so act quick. For further information or to book a place at one of the sessions contact the ICMP directly on:

I'm MusicRadar's eCommerce Editor. In addition to testing the latest music gear, with a particular focus on electronic drums, it's my job to manage the 300+ buyer's guides on MusicRadar and help musicians find the right gear for them at the best prices. I dabble with guitar, but my main instrument is the drums, which I have been playing for 24 years. I've been a part of the music gear industry for 20 years, including 7 years as Editor of the UK's best-selling drum magazine Rhythm, and 5 years as a freelance music writer, during which time I worked with the world's biggest instrument brands including Roland, Boss, Laney and Natal.
“He was playing this kit that had cushions in it and tape all over it. It didn’t sound like Rodge”: Queen hated Roger Taylor’s drum sound on their debut album so much that they “augmented” every beat for its reissue
“What we get here is the essence of Alesis’ flagship electronic drum set, with all the great features, minus the stuff that is likely to be ‘nice-to-have’ rather than essential”: Alesis Strata Core review
