More drummers invade your living room!
Whether it's a drum-off on the K-Swiss advert or an unassuming gorilla doing his best Phil Collins impression for Cadburys, drums have never been more prevalent in the TV world.
To add to this drum fever, performance students at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford have landed a position in a new Sony television advertising campaign due to air in a few weeks time. 15 students were chosen for the project which features 32 drummers divided up amongst the various pieces of a drum kit.
The ad was shot by Academy Films whose previous works include famous ad campaigns like the Skoda ‘cake car´ ad, Sony´s ‘bouncing ball´ ad as well as everyone's favourite chocolate-loving primate. One to look out for in the coming weeks...

I'm MusicRadar's eCommerce Editor. In addition to testing the latest music gear, with a particular focus on electronic drums, it's my job to manage the 300+ buyer's guides on MusicRadar and help musicians find the right gear for them at the best prices. I dabble with guitar, but my main instrument is the drums, which I have been playing for 24 years. I've been a part of the music gear industry for 20 years, including 7 years as Editor of the UK's best-selling drum magazine Rhythm, and 5 years as a freelance music writer, during which time I worked with the world's biggest instrument brands including Roland, Boss, Laney and Natal.
