John Emrich to host drum software master class at the Institute
BFD have become the market leader in drum programming software. Drum Software specialist John Emrich will be paying a visit to the Institute Of Contemporary Music on Thursday 3 April to host a special performance event demonstrating how to work with this groundbreaking technology. BFD is a software acoustic drum module which integrates directly into your sequencer environment; its flexible and intuitive interface allows the freedom to build varied and realistic drum tracks.
John's masterclass will cover the use of BFD2 as a live and studio tool for drummers and producers alike. It will cover the key features and John will show students how to set up for e-drumming live and for e-drumming in the studio, using BFD2 as a plug-in. Also featured, alongside John on drums, will be the Institute´s Dave Marks on bass and Johan Englund in charge of the recording process.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the percussive arts to see how drummers can work with technology to expand their creative horizons - so contact the Institute now if you wish to attend!

I'm MusicRadar's eCommerce Editor. In addition to testing the latest music gear, with a particular focus on electronic drums, it's my job to manage the 300+ buyer's guides on MusicRadar and help musicians find the right gear for them at the best prices. I dabble with guitar, but my main instrument is the drums, which I have been playing for 24 years. I've been a part of the music gear industry for 20 years, including 7 years as Editor of the UK's best-selling drum magazine Rhythm, and 5 years as a freelance music writer, during which time I worked with the world's biggest instrument brands including Roland, Boss, Laney and Natal.
