Correct notation for October's Jose Pasillas lesson
In the October issue of Rhythm (featuring Lars Ulrich on the cover) we managed to print the wrong notation for examples 4 and 5 in Russell Gilbrook's Rock Lesson on the playing of Jose Pasillas.
For those of you that spotted our glaring error we have included the correct notation and explanation below. Enjoy!
Example 4: A 5/4 groove. Take it slowly a first, play the correct sticking, although the last eight 16th notes can be played as a single paradiddle or single sticking.
Example 5: A groove similar to that on 'Rogues', where once again the ghost notes have to be controlled. Note that the hi-hat part is played correctly for fluidity.
