Cape Breton drum festival to announce line-up next week!
Funk drumming legend Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock, Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, Wayne Shorter) is set to perform at a Gala evening for the announcement of the Cape Breton International drum festival 2008 line-up.
The Gala evening will be held at the Jenu Multi-Purpose Room, Membertou Trade & Convention Centre, Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, on Wednesday 14 November.
As well as a performance from Clark the evening will include an auction of collectibles donated by the who´s who of the drumming and percussion world including Virgil Donati (Southern Sons, Planet X, Steve Vai), Rick Marotta (Aretha Franklin, John Lennon, Steely Dan), Ndugu Chancler (Miles Davis, Santana, Eric Clapton), Todd Sucherman (Styx, Brian Wilson, Peter Cetera), Hal Blaine (Elvis Presley, Beach Boys, Johnny Cash) and many others. There are also donations personally signed by some of the world´s greatest bands including Def Leppard, The Strawbs, and Styx.
