Westfield Guitars at Guitar Showcase 2022: revived and reinvented
Traditional acoustics with cutting-edge construction herald the return of British brand Westfield Guitars
GUITAR SHOWCASE 2022: If you had a habit of perusing British guitar shops in the nineties and noughties, you’ll be familiar with Westfield Guitars.
The brand soon became a best-seller among beginner and intermediate players and was known for offering striking value-for-money. These robust yet refined guitars were even picked up by chart-topping musicians such as McFly, Jason Mraz, and Amy Winehouse who wrote a song about her Westfield TF656 acoustic guitar (Cherry from her debut album Frank).
The company was recently acquired by iconic music string makers, Rotosound Manufacturing Limited, who have designed a brand new array of guitars from their headquarters in Kent, England.
The revived Westfield Guitars collection begins with two new series of acoustics that combine high-end appointments and state-of-the-art production methods with affordable prices.
The Performer series continues Westfield’s tradition of building guitars that offer astonishing value for money, while the top-of-the-line Artist series is aimed at the more discerning player.
Both the Performer and Artist series feature parlour, folk (OM), dreadnought, grand auditorium, and classical models, with extras such as cutaways, electronics, 12-string, and left-handed variants available.
Performer series (from £159 RRP)
All models feature laminate spruce tops, optional Fishman® Presys II electronics, Graphtech NuBone® saddles and nuts, and are fitted with coated Rotosound® Nexus strings. The Performer series offers a wide choice to players choosing their first acoustic or looking to augment their collection with a new style of guitar.
Artist series (from £299 RRP)
Models feature solid spruce or cedar tops, optional Fishman® Sonitone electronics, Graphtech NuBone® saddles and nuts, Rotosound® Nexus strings, and a deluxe padded gig bag. The Artist series brings together upgraded tone wood, electronics, and aesthetic enhancements to create the perfect instrument for both professional and up-and-coming musicians.
All models are available to purchase from official retailers in the United Kingdom from October 2022 with worldwide availability to follow.
