Acclaimed plugin developer, Audiomodern, has unleashed a brand new creative sequencer plugin called Freezr and it is just begging you to get all experimental.
If you’re finding yourself in a creative rut, looking to breathe new life into some old samples or need an addition to your remixing arsenal, then Freezr has the tools to unlock limitless creative possibilities.
Freezr captures audio in real-time and generates rhythmical patterns that can be easily manipulated for very interesting results, either on screen or with your favourite MIDI controller.
The UI is very intuitive and demands exploration. Segments of audio are frozen within a certain number of steps. You can decide on length, amount, gate, quantization, volume, complexity and much more, per step, giving you huge amounts of control over the incoming signal.
The plugin can be used in both mono and stereo modes, with the latter affording you the ability to run two independent sequences and manipulate them individually, or tie them together per sequence, or step.
Perhaps the best part about Freezr is the randomisation. There are four algorithms to choose from; starting with Classic, which allows you to completely randomise all the parameters; Remix mode generates similar results within the constraints of your sequence; Temporary mode will randomise only while the button is pressed and reverts to its original state on release; and finally, Audiomodern’s signature Infinity Mode which triggers a new sequence on each new cycle.
You can store up to 16 sequenced states at any one time. Either user-generated sequences or entirely random ones that are generated by simply pressing the magic wand button. The 16 presets are represented by the 16 slots at the bottom of the interface and performed in real-time, either from the screen or mapped to your controller.
