Now Kanye West is producing Jay-Z album
Star set to bait Noel Gallagher on new song
It seems that Timbaland may have been getting ahead of himself slightly when he claimed that he would be producing the next Jay-Z album, as it's now being reported that Kanye West will be at the helm.
This is the claim made by US DJ Mick Boogie. Writing on his blog, he says: "Kanye will indeed be producing most, if not all, of the album. Remember back in the day when an artist would do a whole album with one producer for cohesiveness? Think classic Snoop or Jeru with Primo... and fast forward it to 2008."
Boogie also states that Jockin, a new Jay-Z track that references his dispute with Noel Gallagher earlier this year, will be leaked onto the internet as soon as it's finished. In it, the rapper is reported to say: "That bloke from Oasis said I couldn't play guitar / Someone should have told them I'm a f***ing rock star /Today is gonna be the day that I'm gonna throw it back to you."
And here we were thinking that Jay and Noel had kissed and made up.
The new album, called The Blueprint 3, is scheduled for release later this year.
