New ZED USB mixers have built-in FX
Allen & Heath adds two models to the range
With less than a month to go until the 2008 Frankfurt Musikmesse - after Winter NAMM, the second big trade show on the calendar - we´ve heard the first news of products that are set to be launched there. This comes from Allen & Heath, which has revealed that it´s adding a couple more models to its ZED range of small-format USB mixers.
The ZED-12FX and ZED-22FX are the products in question. The former features six mono and three dual stereo channels, while the latter has 16 mono and three dual stereo channels. However, the big news is that both come with a selection of Allen & Heath effects.
These are divided into four categories: tap tempo delays, short reverbs, long reverbs and modulation. Three control buttons are said to enable easy navigation and editing of the effects.
Like the other mixers in the ZED range, the new models offer 3-band EQ on the mono channels and 2-band EQ on the stereo channels. The USB port enables easy interfacing with a Mac or PC - a copy of the Windows-compatible Sonar LE comes in the box.
The ZED-12FX and ZED-22FX will ship in March priced at £434 and £629 respectively. Full specs are available on the Allen & Heath website.
