MC Hammer reality show coming soon
Hammertime gets the green light
It's been revealed that Twitter-loving, '90s chart-bothering hip-hopper MC Hammer has been given his own reality TV show.
Almost inevitably, the series will be called Hammertime, and is set to feature not just Hammer, but also his wife, five children and two nephews, all of whom live in their California home.
Speaking to Associated Press, Hammer revealed: "You're going to see an American family in the current environment of America. College. High school. Junior high school. All the things that come along with family in day-to-day life, with the caveat that their dad is also a world-renowned recording artist."
Whether that caveat still applies is open to debate - Hammer's last major hit was 1991's Addams Groove, from the original Addams Family movie - but it seems that the rapper has remained in the public's affections, if not their record collections.
Hammertime will air in America on cable channel A&E, with reports suggesting that its run could begin in May.
