Limiter and EQ plug-ins from the legendary studio
Abbey Road is best known as a recording studio - a group called The Beatles did some sessions there, you might recall - but it's now a plug-in developer, too. The company recently made its TG12413 Limiter available in Audio Units and VST formats, and also announced that it's working on what's been dubbed the Brilliance Pack.
Previously a Pro Tools exclusive, the TG12413 Limiter emulates the compressor/limiter from the EMI TG12345 mixing console. This was used to record both The Beatles and Pink Floyd; it was never sold commercially so its sound is rare and much sought-after.
As well as this vintage limiter (known as the 1969 module), the TG12413 Limiter package also includes a 2005 module that's based on Chandler Limited's TG1 compressor/limiter. It's compatible with Mac and PC and can be purchased in an Audio Units/VST/RTAS bundle for $335 (the TDM version costs $560).
The final specs of the Brilliance Pack are still to be confirmed, but what we do know is that it'll contain vintage EQ emulations and be available in TDM, RTAS, Audio Units and VST formats. More news on this as we get it.
