Free Reason Moog ReFill from Propellerhead
Release designed to raise awareness of Moog Foundation
Propellerhead has released a free Bob Moog-inspired ReFill for Reason 4. This contains a selection of patches for the software's Thor synthesizer.
The ReFill is being released to raise awareness of (and encourage people to donate to) the Bob Moog Foundation. This has been set up to document, celebrate and teach innovative thinking and honour Moog's legacy. The foundation is seeking funds to preserve the great man's extensive archives.
Commenting on the release, Propellerhead Software CEO Ernst Nathorst-Böös said: "Our hearts and souls are rooted in music synthesis. Bob Moog blazed the trail of electronic music synthesis and revolutionised music with his instruments.
"We urge the Reason community, in fact anyone who has ever used a sawtooth waveform, to reach out and help safeguard Bob's legacy for future generations by donating to the organisation."
Sounds reasonable to us - we should also point out that Propellerhead has put its money where its mouth is by making a donation of its own.
You can contribute via the Bob Moog Foundation website and download the ReFill at the Propellerhead website.
