FabFilter Twin 2: simpler and more powerful
Synth gets significant update
FabFilter's Twin was acclaimed for its ability to produce juicy analogue-style tones, and the freshly minted update adds to its feature set in several key areas.
For a start, there are now three oscillators rather than two, with each boasting a variety of waveforms and ring modulation. A new delay section, meanwhile, offers a couple of delay units and two additional multimode filters in the feedback loop.
Elsewhere, Twin's excellent drag-and-drop modulation system has been improved, while the user interface now only displays the components that you're actually using. A clear routing display is also offered.
FabFilter Twin 2 costs $169/£114/€129, runs on Mac and PC and supports the VST, AU and RTAS plug-in formats. Upgrades for existing users are also available.
