Hard on the heels of its Pro Tools 8 announcement, Digidesign has launched the 003 Rack+ Factory. This is similar to the standard 003 Rack, but adds eight high-quality mic preamps to make this the best-spec'd Pro Tools LE system yet seen.
The 003 Rack+ offers 18 simultaneous channels of I/O, with each of the preamps having switchable 48V phantom power, 20dB pad, a high-pass filter and a trim control.
There are also eight DI/line level inputs and outputs, eight channels of ADAT I/O, two channels of S/PDIF I/O and 16 channels of MIDI I/O.
The 003+ Rack is currently being bundled with Pro Tools LE 7.4, though if you buy it now, you'll be entitled to a free update to Pro Tools 8. 80 effect and instrument plug-ins are included, too.
