Sarah Longfield demos the Korg MS-20 fs
The full-sized MS-20 is back and available in 4 limited edition colors
Originally released in 1978, the Korg MS-20 became an instant classic, appearing in a wide variety of musical applications throughout the 80's and 90's.
Available in 4 limited-edition colors, the MS-20 FS also features a full-sized 37 note keyboard and 2 filter types: the initial filter design and the updated filter that was released in the late-70's models, allowing you to choose between each filters distinct sonic characteristics.
Like the original, the MS-20 FS rocks two VCOs, two VCAs, two Envelope Generators, and one LFO; giving you everything you need to sculpt massive and aggressive tones out of this powerhouse monosynth.
Longfield kicks off the demo by letting viewers know this was her first time recording and playing a true analog synth and follows up with "I've gotta say it (sounds) pretty fat!!"
'I really enjoyed that you can get almost a distorted sound by messing with the filters,' she added. 'It has a very distinct, unique sound and there's a variability in the sound that gives it so much character'
'But where I really really found the sound that I loved was when I connected a reverb pedal.. I feel like the MS-20 gives you an awesome analog synthesizer sound and then you can kind of take that and run with it, so if you're using delay pedals, or reverb pedals or other effects it makes it sound huge!'
