When Mooer Audio launched its GTRS S800 Intelligent Guitar – an electric guitar with over 125 onboard effects and an 80-second looper – it felt like the next step for guitar design.
But a future-forward six-string like this needs something to play through, and the Chinese gear giant has duly unveiled a range of Bluetooth guitar amps, designed specifically to complement the GTRS.
They even arrive in matching colours. The GTRS PTNR – pronounced “partner” – is a super-portable mini-amp with 5-watts of power driving a 2.2” speaker with a vibrating diaphragm that Mooer Audio promises offers a low-end performance that belies the amp’s cutsie dimensions.
If you play one of Mooer Audio’s GTRS 800 Series S-styles, simply connect to the GTRS PTNR via Bluetooth. Alternatively, analogue guitars work just as well; there is a regular 1/4” instrument jack ready to take your signal, and if you’re tired of jamming you can stream audio video Bluetooth.
The GTRS PTNR is powered by a rechargeable 2000 mAh battery that will give you up to seven hours of continuous playing time before need to charge it. When that time comes, do as you would with the GTRS guitar and juice it up via a USB-C charging port.
