Kali Audio has probably just brought out the ideal studio monitor for home studios
Whether you’re starting out in music production, are limited to a small studio space, or looking to expand your monitoring solution, Kali Audio has just the perfect monitors for you.
The LP-UNFs (Lone Pine - Ultra Nearfield) are a scaled-down version of the LP-6 and LP-8s with a 4.5-inch driver and feature the same front-ported two-way design and build quality, but come with extra digital connectivity.
These monitor speakers are tunable to fit into various monitoring setup scenarios. Whether you are placing them directly on the desktop, on a stand or an elevated surface, or even need to have them close to a wall, you can tweak the placement and EQ accordingly.
The best part is that you don’t need any prior knowledge of acoustics or measuring equipment to do so.
On the rear of the primary monitor is a handy schematic to guide you through finding the right setting for your monitor placement using the simple DIP switches.
Much like their larger siblings, the LP-UNFs offer a clear and relatively flat response, running at 85dB SPL at a distance of just 0.8 metres, which is ideal for most small home studios.
The addition of Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity adds to the value and use around the home or studio space. You can easily plug in any USB-C-equipped phone or tablet for latency-free sound when creativity strikes, or quickly pair via Bluetooth to any device streaming music.
As for the analogue I/O, the LP-UNFs are equipped with RCA and TRS ports to connect to your existing studio gear.
These new ultra-nearfields from Kali Audio are perfect for anyone short on space and on a budget, either as a primary set of monitors, or a secondary monitoring solution for larger studios and budgets.
