IK Multimedia at Gear Expo 2022: Putting musicians first
From synth powerhouse Syntronik 2 to T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb and TASCAM tape warmth
GEAR EXPO 2022: IK Multimedia has just expanded its wide range of acclaimed software solutions with new and exciting product releases, including Syntronik 2, T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb and T-RackS TASCAM® Tape Collection.
Syntronik 2
Syntronik 2 is a real legendary synth powerhouse. IK’s advanced sampling techniques, combined with a hybrid sample and modelling synthesis engine, power this comprehensive collection of rare and sought-after synths with stunning sonic accuracy and the deepest editing.
This is a massive update to the previous release, adding 11 new synths, including emulations of models from Moog, Oberheim, Sequential Circuits, ARP, Roland and Yamaha with new, advanced, and much-requested functionality, and a huge number of all-new presets for the 22 original synths taking advantage of all these new features.
An easy-to-use layering interface lets users quickly map and play up to 4 different synthesizer parts simultaneously, as well as create advanced splits for maximum flexibility and live performance, while a brand-new controller for Syntronik 2 offers detailed filtering of sustain, PB, MW and AT per part for unparalleled sound design.
New Edit panel
Syntronik 2 adds a new Edit panel with many new user-requested features. There are per-oscillator DRIFT controls, extended envelopes and LFOs along with a programmable modulation matrix. Plus a new Wave Set Browser that lets you choose the sound for each of up to 4 oscillators and 2 sub-oscillators per preset for a new level of sound design.
71 high-quality effects
Syntronik 2 comes with 71 high-quality effects derived from IK’s popular T-RackS 5 mix and mastering suite, MixBox processors, and AmpliTube 5 guitar workstation. It works both as a plug-in and standalone for Mac/PC, plus individual sounds from Syntronik 2 can be seamlessly read by IK’s SampleTank 4. Moreover, a fully functional free Syntronik CS version is available.

T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb
T-RackS 5 is an incredibly powerful mix and master modular system, and IK has just added two new collections to the range:
T-RackS FAME Studio Reverb offers the sound of the world-famous FAME recording studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. It provides all the necessary controls to shape your spaces including reverb time, width and frequency controls, microphone controls (left, right, or both) and accurate levelling/monitoring of the mixed signals.
To offer even more realism, when using the two studio’s live rooms, FAME Studio Reverb offers two faders for mono room ambience, which can be mixed into the stereo signal or used alone, just as you could if recording at FAME Studios themselves.
T-RackS TASCAM® Tape Collection
T-RackS TASCAM® Tape Collection gives your tracks those beloved vintage vibes with 4 officially certified versions of TASCAM’s most sought-after units, using IK’s award-winning analog tape modelling technology: The Teac A-6100 Mk II, Teac A-3340S, Tascam 388, and the Tascam Porta One. Each machine was chosen specifically by TASCAM and TEAC themselves, recommending particularly sought-after models from their history and helping IK source the best-sounding units. Each machine then went through a complete restoration to bring them perfectly back “to spec” before the scientific modelling process started.
