The Black Keys - that explosive blues duo of Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney - are recording an album called Blackroc with an eye-popping array of hip-hop talents.
To be released on 27 November - the so-called 'Black Friday' after Thanksgiving - Blackroc will feature the Keys paired with artists such as Ludacris, Q-Tip, Pharoahe Monch, NOE, RZA and more.
Documenting the sessions, The Black Keys have just posted a webisode - this one's number two - showing them in the studio with Mos Def. Check it out below. (And hey, Dan's shaved his beard!)
We're not sure what the track is called, but it sounds 'Mos' promising. You can pre-order Blackroc here.

“It didn’t even represent what we were doing. Even the guitar solo has no business being in that song”: Gwen Stefani on the No Doubt song that “changed everything” after it became their biggest hit
"There was water dripping onto the gear and we got interrupted by a cave diver": How Mandy, Indiana recorded their debut album in caves, crypts and shopping malls
Joe is a freelance journalist who has, over the past few decades, interviewed hundreds of guitarists for Guitar World, Guitar Player, MusicRadar and Classic Rock. He is also a former editor of Guitar World, contributing writer for Guitar Aficionado and VP of A&R for Island Records. He’s an enthusiastic guitarist, but he’s nowhere near the likes of the people he interviews. Surprisingly, his skills are more suited to the drums. If you need a drummer for your Beatles tribute band, look him up.
