Placebo prepare new album for June release
Band sign to PIAS Entertainment Group for sixth LP

Long-standing 90's rockers Placebo have signed to PIAS Entertainment Group for the European release of their still-untitled sixth album. The label let slip of a June 2009 release in the process…
"We will work with them hand in hand to cover all aspects of what needs to be done with the next Placebo album, coming out in June, to make it a very big success," announced PIAS Entertainment's co-founder Kenny Gates.
"We were very lucky to have so many great labels interested in signing us," added Placebo frontman Brian Molko. "It means a lot, especially after 12 years of releasing records."
Post-Meds
The follow-up to 2006's Meds is being produced by David Bottrill, who boasts an impressively suitable resume: Muse's Origin Of Symmetry, Coheed And Cambria's Good Apollo and three Tool albums to name but a few. It's also the first Placebo material to feature new drummer Steve Forrest.
