Oasis dominate NME Awards 2009 nominations
This year, it's all about Best Dressed…
Another year, another NME Award show and another seven nominations for Oasis. Liam, Noel and crew are up for best British band, live band, best album, a couple of best dressed gongs and, confusingly, worst band.
Alex Turner picked up six nominations for Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets and individually for hero of the year and best dressed rockstar. If Turner is anything like Noel Gallagher, it's the latter that matters most: "Seven nominations, you say? Is that all?" boasts Noel. "I always knew my time would come in the Best Dressed Man In The World category."
Kings Of Leon, MGMT, Radiohead and Vampire Weekend also dominate the ranks.
Like the nominations themselves, it's the general public who decide the eventual winners. So, if you're inclined to care: cast your vote here.
