Noel Gallagher: “I like Jay-Z”
After the war of words, the love-in
Noel Gallagher has seemingly put an end to his Glastonbury-related dispute with hip-hop star Jay-Z by claiming that he actually likes him.
Speaking to the BBC at the Silver Clef music therapy awards in London, the Oasis star struck a conciliatory tone, saying that "I like Jay-Z. That's my opinion". However, he didn't reveal whether or not he enjoyed the American rapper's festival performance.
Gallagher also suggested that his comments were hyped up in the media, telling reporters that "The broadsheets get hold of it and have me going down Hyde Park Corner blasting and slamming".
It seems that Jay-Z has no desire to extend the row either, with Gigwise reporting that he'd be happy to work with anyone, Oasis included. MusicRadar can't quite imagine what any collaboration might sound like - would it be called 'dad-hop'? - but at least we can sleep soundly knowing that it could happen.
