New Slash signature Les Pauls revealed
Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses star gets new guitars
Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver fans excited by our report on new Slash guitars should get ready for some seriously drool-worthy guitar porn.
Indeed, any fans of Gibson Les Pauls in general should prepare to salivate at the selection of Slash signature instruments that Gibson has announced.
1 April 2008 sees selected dealers offering a one-off chance to buy a trio of Slash signature models from Gibson Custom, Gibson USA and Epiphone. Supplies are strictly limited and once they are gone, you guessed it, they are gone.
MusicRadar saw the Custom Shop VOS model in the flesh at NAMM, and it's a real beauty. Expertly aged, the instrument is an accurate, detailed replica of the Les Paul that set stages alight across the world on Guns N' Roses mammoth, debauched Appetite For Destruction world tour and it's set to retail for $5880.
For the slightly less well-heeled fan, the Epiphone model has a more wallet-friendly RRP of $1464 and comes with high-end specifications such as a vintage-correct long neck tenon and Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups.
Sitting somewhere in-between, the Gibson USA Slash model is $3499 and features include a one-piece mahogany neck and TonePros hardware.
Expect these guitars to be launched with a serious flourish including global personal appearances by the man himself. By all accounts, there are five more models to come, so stay tuned. In the meantime, stop reading this and look at the pictures!
