More bands added to Download lineup
Fightstar, Staind, among new additions
A dozen bands have been added to the already impressive line-up at Download 2009.
The Donington Park event will see headline sets from Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard, as well as appearances from Limp Bizkit, Mötley Crüe, Korn, Prodigy and Marilyn Manson. Chris Cornell also returns having headlined the first Download festival in 2003 with Audioslave.
New additions to this year's line-up include Staind, who will make their first appearance at the festival, and ex-Busted man Charlie Simpson's band Fightstar, who will be promoting their third album Be Human.
Bring Me The Horizon will perform despite the recent departure of guitarist Curtis Ward and they will be joined by fellow new additions Static-X, Shinedown, Volbeat, Facecage, Auger Bane, Sevendust, Go: Audio and The Answer, who have toured with AC/DC recently.
Stone Gods will play the bash again after making their Download debut last year. They wrote on their website: "We are honoured to be invited back after having such a great time last year.
"Donington always was and still is the highlight of the rock n roll calendar and we can't wait to take the stage and rock your faces off!!!"
The festival takes place from 12-14 June and tickets are still on sale.
