Starting midday tomorrow (October 1), Oasis will post their much-anticipated seventh studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, on MySpace, where it will remain for an entire week.
That's right, for one week only you can preview the album as many times as you like, over and over and over again, before its official release date on Monday, October 6.
Wait a minute...what's that sound? Is it Noel Gallagher eating his words? Or maybe it's his hat. Remember, this is the man who only recently bashed bands such as Radiohead and Coldplay for giving music away online.
His exact words went a little something like this: "I didn't spend a year in the most expensive studio in England, with the most expensive producer in America and the most expensive graphic designer in London, to then give it away. Fuck that."
The distinction should be made, of course, that Oasis aren't "giving away" their music so much as they're "loaning it out."
In other Oasis news, Alan McGee, the man who founded Creation Records and signed Oasis, claims in an editorial on Guardian.co.uk that Dig Out Your Soul is as good as The Beatles' 1966 masterpiece Revolver.
A mighty bold claim, wouldn't you say? Think he's off-base or right on-target? Have a listen to Dig Out Your Soul and decide for yourself.

He is also a former editor of Guitar World, contributing writer for Guitar Aficionado and VP of A&R for Island Records. He’s an enthusiastic guitarist, but he’s nowhere near the likes of the people he interviews. Surprisingly, his skills are more suited to the drums. If you need a drummer for your Beatles tribute band, look him up.
