Hammer Smashed Face voted 'Greatest Death Metal Song Of All Time'
Visitors to Metal-Hammer.de have awarded Cannibal Corpse's Hammer Smashed Face the accolade of 'Die größten Death Metal Song aller Zeiten'. That's 'The Greatest Death Metal Song Of All Time', for our non-German readers.
Remarkably, until 2006 Cannibal Corpse were banned from performing the track in Germany, along with all the material from their first three albums. For some reason, songs such as Necropedophile and Entrails Ripped From A Virgin's C**t caused more than a little controversy. We can't think why.
Here's the top ten best death metal songs ever, as voted for by the readers of Metal-Hammer.de:
1) Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face
2) Arch Enemy - We Will Rise
3) Death - Crystal Mountain
4) Amon Amarth - Pursuit Of Vikings
