Fender begins work on Malmsteen replica
Exact copy of Yngwie’s ‘Duck’ Strat out in 2008
Fender has launched a new microsite at http://www.fender.com/yngwie/, which confirms that an exact replica of Yngwie Malmsteen´s 1972 ‘Duck´ Fender Stratocaster is being built by the Fender Custom Shop. Other tribute models have recently been fashioned by Fender after the guitars played by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eddie Van Halen.
There are no details as yet on the pricing or availability of the Duck (let´s guess - a limited run of 72, and a price of a $10,000?) but you can register with the microsite for details as they´re released and for more pictures.
Learn all about Yngwie´s gear, or watch him give a video lesson. (No, it´s not the spoof one where he says, ‘Check me out, I am super amazing.´ He didn´t think that was funny, so he had it removed fromYouTube.)
