Love HBO's Entourage? Love air drumming - or even real drumming? Love Rush? Then a new movie is right up your alley. It's called Adventures Of Power - and it captures the allure of the skins so completely that even Neil Peart has given it his blessing.
The legendary Rush sticksman even makes a cameo appearance, playing Neil Peart, of all people (now, there's a stretch!).

Directed by and starring filmmaker and musician Ari Gold - no, not the super-agent on Entourage as portrayed by Jeremy Piven - Adventures Of Power concerns itself with a twentysomething misfit named Power (Gold), who dedicates his life to the mastery of invisible skins.
Flailing his arms in the manner of Neil Peart, Gold aims to be the best air drummer in the world. But first he must win an air drumming contest in which Dallas Howard, an arrogant country music star played by Adrian Grenier, is favored to win. Check out the trailer below.
Interestingly, Grenier is also a musician in real life. He plays a number of instruments, including drums, in two New York City bands, Kid Friendly and The Honey Brothers (the latter features Gold).
Adventures Of Power opens in New York on 9 October and will expand to other cities soon. For musicians - or musicians at heart - this looks like one to catch.

Joe is a freelance journalist who has, over the past few decades, interviewed hundreds of guitarists for Guitar World, Guitar Player, MusicRadar and Classic Rock. He is also a former editor of Guitar World, contributing writer for Guitar Aficionado and VP of A&R for Island Records. He’s an enthusiastic guitarist, but he’s nowhere near the likes of the people he interviews. Surprisingly, his skills are more suited to the drums. If you need a drummer for your Beatles tribute band, look him up.
