Best of YouTube: #61
Every Friday, the MusicRadar team submits its own personal favourite music videos and clips on the net.
Some clips we really like, others are simply comedy classics or oddly intriguing. But all are worth watching.
This week, MusicRadar celebrates The Return Of Brett Domino. All hail the King of geek-chic!
Stylophoniac: A short film by Brett Domino
Following his appearance on Britain's Got Talent, we discovered Brett Domino's brief documentary about his favourite instrument: the Stylophone. Replete with dubious historical 'facts' and a nice multi-tracked version of The William Tell Overture to close, it's an affectionate tribute. Ben Rogerson
Epic Kiss stage setup timelapse
OK, timelapse films of stage setups might be a bit old hat, but I still can't get enough of them. Here's one for a Kiss concert: complete with crane, more flightcases than you can shake a stick at, some rather lovely footage as the sun comes up at 0:54 and, mercifully, no music whatsoever. Chris Wickett
Sly And The Family Stone - rare rehearsal footage
With the news that a recent interview with Sylvester Stewart will be airing this Monday, let's look back at Sly and his big band in their prime. Here's some fun and fascinating bits of the soul icon running the group through My Lady and Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) - check out that sequinned shoe working the wah-wah! - followed by a live performance that includes a wonderful version of Stand! Joe Bosso
The Beach Boys' God Only Knows through EHX voice box and Strat
Stratocaster + Guyatone Micro Octaver + SRB808 Overdrive + Electro Harmonix voice box + Shure SM57 mic + Epiphone Valve Junior = Daft Punk? "The weird tracking noises are from the Octaver, not the Vocoder," says creator Electricpony. Oh good, thanks for clearing that up… Tom Porter

Dan Auerbach & The Fast Five play When The Night Comes
Dan Auerbach's show at Islington Academy in London last week was awesome. Two drummers, cowboy shirts and plenty of beards: what's not to like? Here's a fan-filmed clip of the exquisite When The Night Comes from the very same performance. It's just a shame that we didn't manage to find the stairs to the balcony as there was obviously a pretty good view... Chris Vinnicombe
The Voices Of East Harlem - Brothers And Sisters
A real cult classic this. Get the full skinny here, but a long story short - early Seventies soul, worked with Curtis Mayfield, 20-member group with ages ranging from 12 to 21, no chart action but their 'Right On Be Free' (Elektra) is a cratedigger classic that's recently been reissued on Rhino. Lots of gospel/soul/funk covers (including a truly astonishing For What It's Worth) can be found therein but instead we've gone for this action-packed cut from fly Jacko-starring 1974 kids TV special Free To Be... You And Me. Mike Goldsmith
Akai MPD32 beats on the fly
Performing electronic music 'live' can be a bit of a juggling act, but producer 'Equalibrum' has found a balance using Akai's MPD32 and a software live looper. Watch him build his DJ Shadow-esque instrumental hip-hop from scratch: triggering samples and setting loops from the drum pads, and controlling effects on the faders. The video opens with a few beat demos, but for the main event, check him 'holding it down' from 1:30... Jon Sherrard
