Fender has combined style and sound with the Vintera Series, an all-new range of vintage-inspired electric guitar and bass models that echo specs from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
The new guitars boast features that pay homage to their particular era, while each model is also offered in a Modified version that adds features not found on the originals.
New versions of the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jaguar, Mustang, Jazzmaster, Jazz Bass, Precision Bass and Mustang Bass make up the range, which replaces Fender’s Classic Series and improves on that line-up with a host of era-specific features.
These include period-correct neck shapes and 7.25”-radius fingerboards, as well as new Tim Shaw-designed pickups with decade-specific tones.
Several of the new guitars also appear in a wider range of vintage finishes, including Mocha, Fiesta Red, Seafoam Green, Inca Silver, Burgundy Mist and Ice Blue Metallic.
A number of Modified models feature Fender’s S-1 switching for additional tones, while there’s also the option of a Bigsby-fitted Telecaster, as well as ’60s Jaguar and Jazzmaster models with matching headstocks.
Artists including Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Le Butcherettes and Curtis Harding put the new instruments through their paces in the video above, with performances inspired by the decade that each guitar is based on.
