Ludwig names signature kit for… a tattooist
He has inked Metallica, though
Usually, only the finest musicians are honoured with signature gear. Take Slash's Les Paul Standard or Travis Smith's Signature DDrum kit, for example. Now, however, it would seem that drum giants Ludwig are curving the trend by giving a tattoo artist a kit to call his own…
Corey Miller is a drummer, but that's not what he's famous for: Corey's the proud owner of the Six Feet Under tattoo parlour in California. It may not sound very rock 'n ' roll, but he does list Metallica frontman James Hetfield among his clients.
The set itself - named the Corey Miller Signature Element Kit - includes a 22"x22" bass drum (a first for Ludwig), 7"x14" snare, 8"x12" rack tom, and 14"x16" floor tom. Corey designed the tattoo-inspired artwork, which sits on a pre-aged White Marine Pearloid wrap.
Let's hope this kit sounds as good as it looks - we wouldn't want Ludwig 'doing an Apple' and putting aesthetics before functionality, now, would we? Keep an eye on Ludwig's official site for more spec.
