DVD: Classic Rock Drum Solos
Bonham, Moon and Palmer are all present on this solos collection
Released by Hudson Music, the Classic Rock Drum Solos DVD is a presentation of legendary rock drummers in rare solo performances spanning five decades of music history.
Hosted by rock drumming innovator Carmine Appice, Classic Rock Drum Solos traces the origins of the rock solo form, with vintage footage of pioneers like Gene Krupa, Lionel Hampton, Louis Jordan's Shadow Wilson, Louis Prima's Jimmy Vincent, Bill Haley's Ralph Jones and The Ventures' Mel Taylor.
Representing the 1960s are the ground-breaking performances of Ginger Baker, Michael Shrieve's famed outing at Woodstock with Santana, and the only existing footage of rock drumming's first superstar, Sandy Nelson. Singular 1970s performances include those by Danny Seraphine, Ron Bushey, Carl Palmer, Ian Paice, Clive Bunker, host Carmine Appice, John Bonham, and Keith Moon's only filmed drum solo.
