Spanish police found Abba´s former session drummer Ola Brunkert dead after an apparent accident in his Mallorca home.
Brunkert allegedly cut his throat on a pane of smashed glass and bled to death from the wound. Police believe the cause of death was entirely accidental but a post-mortem is taking place.
Brunkert was one of the most frequently used Swedish session musicians during the 1970s. He first worked with Abba on their debut single People Need Love and toured with the band in 1977, 1979 and 1980. According to the official Abba website, he and bass player Rutger Gunnarsson were the only musicians to appear on every Abba album.
