Swedish software brand Softube has just launched two new plugins, Vocal Tuner and Deesser, each of which puts an easy-to-use spin on an essential technique for vocal production. What’s more, thanks to a bargain introductory offer, you can currently grab both for just $99.

Vocal Tuner is a real-time pitch correction plugin designed to deliver high-quality sound and a lightning-fast workflow. It offers two modes of pitch correction: Classic applies traditional pitch correction for a more old-school sound, while Modern maintains the formants of a vocal for more natural-sounding effect.

The plugin’s easy-to-navigate interface features sliders to adjust the character of the effect. The Subtle/Hard control alters the speed of the pitch correction, which can make shifts in pitch sound more or less obvious. The Natural/Robotic slider adjusts how much the pitch correction affects the transitions between notes.

Vocal Tuner can be set to adhere to a selected scale, or follow a MIDI input in order to track a riff or melodic part in your project. Beyond pitch correction, the plugin offers individual pitch and formant shifting capabilities, an octave section that can shift the audio up or down and apply stereo spreading, and a Tone Enhance slider to adjust the overall character of the sound.

All of this is aided by precise metering and a low-latency mode, meaning it’s possible to track vocals through the plugin or use it for live performance. With subtle settings, Vocal Tuner is perfect for natural sounding pitch correction, but push it to the extreme – or try it on non-vocal sources – and it’s capable of some distinctive creative effects.

Launched alongside Vocal Tuner is Softube’s Deesser plugin, another classic vocal processing tool.

A de-esser targets sibilance – the hiss-like sounds often produced when singing or saying the letter ‘s’ – which is a common problem in vocal recording that can lead to harshness in the overall tone and loss of clarity. A de-esser tames these sounds by reducing the frequencies associated with sibilant sounds.

Softube’s take on the format is built around an easy-to-use interface designed for a fast and intuitive workflow. A simple control layout offers Frequency Detection and Threshold parameters that allow the user to precisely target the effect.

Deesser is another low-latency plugin, and is also low on CPU usage. Use it on vocals for transparent sibilance removal, or try it across a full mix in order to tame harsh frequencies.

Both Deesser and Vocal Tuner are available now. If you act fast you can grab the pair with a hefty discount, via an introductory offer that means you can pick up Vocal Tuner at half price and get Deesser completely free. That’s two plugins for just $99.
