Five of my favourite delay pedals I've reviewed are all reduced today on Cyber Monday – and I'd struggle to choose between them

You wait for a great delay pedal discount then three come along at once in the Cyber Monday music deals… and honestly these are exceptionally good ones. I've reviewed all these pedals myself, and even bought one (when it cost a lot more). But I am now seriously considering another purchase because they're such good deals…

Boss DM-101 Delay Machine
Boss DM-101 Delay Machine : was $499 now $299 at Guitar Center

If you love analogue delay, this pedal is the pinnacle. The Delay Machine lives up to its name with 12 varied delay modes and a feast of tweakable parameters – plus full stereo. A big pedal gets a big discount with $200 off at Guitar Center.

While the $499 price tag on the Delay Machine may have raised eyebrows on its release, I was wowed by it so much in my review that I bought one. As a fan of Bucket Brigade Device analogue delay, this is the ultimate experience. And I still feel the same about it now – I'm still discovering new ways to use it's huge scope of 12 modes… I just wish I had got it with the $200 discount Guitar Center is now selling it for!

Eventide pedals: save up to $100 at Guitar Center

Eventide pedals: save up to $100 at Guitar Center

Check out these generous reductions on five acclaimed Eventide twin-footswitch effects – including the MicroPitch Delay, Blackhole Reverb, TriceraChorus, Riptide Overdrive and Uni-Vibe, and UltraTap Delay/Reverb (all now $199).

The Eventide MicroPitch Delay is a really interesting take on digital delay and typical of the innovation that has set the US company apart for years. It's based on a 'stereo widening' sound that was favoured by Eddie Van Halen, using two pitch deviations by -+ 50 cents to create a huge sound.

Eventide

It can be very '80s rock – in a great way. Thicken your lead lines, beef up your riffs and then realise this pedal can do a lot more when you try out the presets. With $50 off as part of the Eventide pedal sale at Guitar Center, it's now an even more compelling proposition for your pedalboard.

And if you want to go all-in with Eventide, you can enjoy the MicroPitch sounds and a lot more on the H9 MAX multi-effects – it's been reduced by $100!

Pigtronix Constellator
Pigtronix Constellator: was $179 now $99 at Sweetwater Sound

At just $99, the Pigtronix Constellator is a brilliant deal at Sweetwater thanks to a huge $80 reduction in their Beat the Holiday Rush sale. It's an analog delay pedal that delivers a luscious warm wash that belies its budget price point. It's a seriously underrated bit of gear, and we love the modulated tones it can deliver, as well as the mini size which means it's easily able to fit onto any 'board.

If space is tight on your 'board, or you simply want a great BBD delay (two MN3005 chips) for a bargain price, the Constellator is a no-brainer. The sounds on this rival some much pricier competition and the build is reassuringly heavy and premium. The warm analogue delay is a strong sell, but the two modulation modes (chorus and vibrato) really impressed me on this when I reviewed it for Total Guitar magazine.

A great little pedal and a steal at $99 today at Sweetwater.

Line 6 HX One
Line 6 HX One : was $299 now $249 at Sweetwater Sound

All the fantastic Helix effects are accessible here for the cheapest price yet in a compact pedal with massive potential for your pedalboard. With 273 drive, modulation, filter, reverb and delay effects, the scope of the HX One offers great value.

I reviewed the HX One earlier this year with a glowing 4.5/5 and it's the most versatile of all the pedals I've chosen here – delay is only part of what it can do.

Essentially you're getting every effect from the larger, pricier Helix units in a much more compact package. And that means 273 of them – modulations, filters, compressors, drives. reverbs… and delays. Oh the delays! Stunning sounds abound here, from modelled tape and analogue delay to complicated digital algorithms for true sonic adventurers.

The HX One impressed me when I reviewed it – and it fitted in very well on my pedalboard! Maybe it's time to buy one for myself… (Image credit: Future)

There's just so much scope here and with $50 off at Sweetwater on Cyber Monday, it's all at a really good price.

Universal Audio UAFX Del-Verb
Universal Audio UAFX Del-Verb: was $349 now $299 at Guitar Center

The best of UA's delay and reverb sounds in one pedal makes this one of the highest-quality combos we've come across. With $50 off at Guitar Center today it's an even more attractive deal.

I found its sounds hugely compelling and usable in my review for MusicRadar

If you want versatility from your delay, but want the kind of detail only the best can offer, Universal Audio has your back. As its name suggests, the UAFX Del-Verb combines delay and reverb, from UA's Starlight and Golden Reverberator pedals.

Use the UAFX Control app to explore a wealth of presets or tweak your own modelled EP-III tape echo, Memory Man Deluxe and digital delay sounds to give you a delay hall of fame set of sounds at your feet. I found its sounds hugely compelling and usable in my review for MusicRadar.

On the reverb side it's just as strong; the best plate and spring reverb modelling I've heard on a pedal, alongside digital hall reverb modelled after the iconic Lexicon 224 unit. The Del-Verb is all about quality and for $299 in the Guitar Center's sale, it's a fantastic investment in versatility and usability.
