NAMM 2007 Highlights: Vox Amps
2007 is, of course, the 50th anniversary of Vox Amplification, something we´ll be loudly celebrating in Guitarist and as well as the Limited Edition AC15H1TVL that we´ll be featuring in our next issue, a standard version is available. It´ll still feature a hand-wired construction but will offer a cream vinyl covering to the cabinet rather than the natural wood version of the limited edition amp.
Also launched is the new range of Classic Plus amps, 50- and 100-watt heads as well as a 50-watt 2x12 combo. Powered by an EL34-based tube complement that also includes a brace of ECC83s, each amp offers an ultra-cool vintage styling and plenty of classic Vox grunt through two independent channels. The heads, plus the associated 412 cabinet, will be available imminently, with the combo coming our way in April.

“I think we're about to have a big resurgence now in kids picking up guitars, and I think we've got the Gallagher brothers to thank for it”: Should we be hopeful about the future of guitar music?
“I’ve always wondered why there isn’t more support in this industry - not just for the artists, or the band, but for the crew, the people working their asses off from 7 in the morning to 2 in the morning": Backline demand mental health action
Simon Bradley is a guitar and especially rock guitar expert who worked for Guitarist magazine and has in the past contributed to world-leading music and guitar titles like MusicRadar (obviously), Guitarist, Guitar World and Louder. What he doesn't know about Brian May's playing and, especially, the Red Special, isn't worth knowing.
