NAMM 2007 Highlights: IK Multimedia
For the first time, Jimi´s full amplifier and effects rig has been recreated in software plug-in form. IK Multimedia has launched the Jimi Hendrix Edition of AmpliTube 2 in Anaheim, in collaboration with Authentic Hendrix, the company founded by Al Hendrix and his daughter Janie in order to curate and promote Jimi´s recorded legacy.
Clearly not just Hendrix fans, but anyone interested in recording electric guitars will be itching to hear the sounds on offer, modelled on some of the most sought-after vintage gear. The software works in either standalone form or as an RTAS, AU or VST plug-in, while existing AmpliTube 2 users can upgrade for a reduced fee. Log on to www.amplitube.com for more.
