Metal for the masses: reformed At The Gates confirmed for UK's Bloodstock festival

Bloodstock

, the United Kingdom's finest upcoming metal festival, has managed to book the reunited

At The Gates

for one of their limited run of farewell shows next Summer. A kind of 'you say hello, they say goodbye' situation for younger fans who never caught them the first time around.

The festival at Catton Hall in Derby has also confirmed that black metallers Dimmu Borgir and pagan metallers Moonsorrow will also appear at the three day bash between 15th and 17th August.

At The Gates split in 1996 and its members have since found success with various bands including

The Haunted

,

Cradle Of Filth

and

The Crown

. In 1995 they released the seminal

Slaughter Of The Soul

album - regarded as one of the finest heavy metal albums of all time and held up as the pinnacle of the influential

'Gothenburg sound'

of melodic death metal also pioneered by

In Flames

and

Dark Tranquillity

.
