Kinky pub set for the wrecking ball
Former Kinks Ray and Dave Davies have expressed outrage over plans to demolish the site of the band´s first ever gig back in 1963. The Clissold Arms in East Finchley is set to be demolished, and its collection of Kinks memorabilia auctioned off to make way for a restaurant.
We are inclined to agree with Dave Davies, who asks: “Why on earth can´t they have their posh gastro grub and still keep a part of it for tourists, Kinks fans and the curious?” An online petition relating to the preservation of the pub´s memorabilia can be signed here
